Review #110: Hallowed- Cynthia Hand

Summary: For months Clara Gardner trained to face the fire from her visions, but she wasn't prepared for the choice she had to make that day. And in the aftermath, she discovered that nothing about being part angel is as straightforward as she thought.

Now, torn between her love for Tucker and her complicated feelings about the roles she and Christian seem destined to play in a world that is both dangerous and beautiful, Clara struggles with a shocking revelation: Someone she loves will die in a matter of months. With her future uncertain, the only thing Clara knows for sure is that the fire was just the beginning.

In this compelling sequel to Unearthly, Cynthia Hand captures the joy of first love, the anguish of loss, and the confusion of becoming who you are.

Review: I have had this book sitting on my shelf since it came out and I am finally getting the chance to read it. I found this cover beautiful and I like the little design with a feather at the beginning of each chapter. This book was alright, but it kind of made me feel like the author was writing just to please the audience. There was no "it" factor for me. It was just an easy, no- Brainer read. Don't get me wrong, it did have emotional parts, I just felt like they didn't go as far as they should have, like the author was holding back. I do like how it isn't your typical angel read. Also I am a fan of the love triangle because both of the guys are great, but at the same time Clare just needs to pick one and be done with it.

Clare is a strong character, she had to face a lot of thought stuff. I just want her to realize that she can't outrun destiny forever, so why drag Tucker along. I also wish she would pay more attention to Jeremy. If he turns into a black wing because of her selfishness then I will not be impressed. Christian is such an awesome guy. He is so patient with Clare. I think he would wait for her forever if he had to. I believe that he really cares for her. Tucker is also a good guy but he can't really compete with Clare's "soulmate".
Obviously I will continue the series because I need to know what happens to the love triangle and if Jeremy goes to the dark side. I would recommend this book to angel lovers.
