This is the third book that I have been lucky enough to read by the amazing Tempest C. Avery, and it is my favourite so far! Don't let the cover trick you into thinking this is an adult novel, it's YA ALL THE WAY!! Once you read the book it will make more sense lol. I am also a huge fan of Greek mythology, so this was an awesome book for that exact thing. Tempest C. Avery made the classic tale of Hades and Persephone her very own. There were a lot of twists and secrets that I was not expecting. It was such a fun, light read. The descriptions of the Underworld were amazing. And the banter between the characters was hilarious.
Spencer is a funny character who knows what she wants and will do anything to get it. I would also say she is brave because she beaks off not only the God of the Underworld but also his brother the God of Death. Just because Spencer started off strong doesn't mean that she didn't grew over the course of the novel. Hadrian is not what one who expect from being the God of the Underworld, I was thinking more of the lines of Hades from Hercules the cartoon with his blue flame hair and bad teeth lol. Hadrian is the opposite, he is a hottie with a body!! Yes, I went there. I wouldn't mind spending six months with him, even if it was in the Underworld.
I would recommend this book to mythology fans who want the myth but one that is a little different then what they are used to. I will definitely carry on with this series. I need to know what happens to the love triangle, if they catch the bad "guy" and how this bond between brothers will work. Oh and I want more on the walkers!!
