Review #132: First Sight- Melissa Crowe

Title: First Sight
Author: Melissa Crowe
Series: The Ivory Series
Pages: 248
Rating: 4/5 Stars
Review: I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review.

This is the first book that I have been able to "sink my fangs" into by Melissa Crowe. It was an enjoyable read, but I did find something to be lacking. Sadly, I think it was the romance (which is weird to say lol). Nicola and Vaughan just had insta- love and I couldn't feel the connection. First Sight did have a few similarities to Twilight, but that isn't a bad thing and it didn't wreck the story. I loved how Melissa had a fesh idea about vampire bites, I won't spoil the surprise so grab a copy and find out. I did find Firtst Sight to be a quick read, but when I was finished I was left wanting more of EVERYTHING!! I am very curious to see where book two takes us.
At first I wasn't sure if I would like Nicola because of her binge drinking/ alcoholism/ party girl attitude(just my opinion). I find it sad when young people don't give a crap and throw their lives away one drink at a time. But luckily as the story went on Nicola grew up a bit and she started to intrigue me. I really want to know her background and why she has daddy issues. I love Vaughan and I really hope we get to learn more about his 65 years as a vampire.
Very engaging first book in the series! I can't wait to start book two. Vampire lovers NEED to add this book to their collections.

About this author

I started writing in 2009 and have not looked back. I have eight stories in various stages of completion. After receiving too many knock backs to count from agents and publishers, I was ready to give up writing. That was until a friend gave me Switched by Amanda Hocking and said to me "If she can self publish, then why can't you?" So here I am, diving head first into self publishing and not regretting my decision at all. I am not looking to be the next Amanda Hocking, I just want to share my stories with people who will appreciate them.
